Read Revelation 21: 25 and Zechariah 9:9-10

In ancient times, a city often had a wall and a gate. The gate was closed at night to prevent raiders from coming in. Another protection against attracting the notice of raiders in the night, especially in unwalled cities, was a regulation that demanded people cover their fires and blow out their candles at a certain time each day. The word “curfew” literally means to “cover the fire”. To close a gate at sundown and demand a curfew acknowledges a simple truth: there are people in this world who are willing to hurt others. But in the city of God, the gates will never shut because God is peace. As we dwell in the presence of God, we will be free from everything that brings pain, secure in our position as His children. We will walk in His perfect light, we will be safe, and perfectly at peace. With God all of this is not only possible; it is promised.

Revelation 21:25 NIV
On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.

Zechariah 9:9-10 NIV
Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. I will take away the chariots from Ephraim and the warhorses from Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be broken. He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.
