AppNotes

April 9, 2021

In the 1860s, Anna Leonowens, a young widow from Wales, traveled to Siam (modern Thailand) to teach the King of Siam’s many children. It’s a true story that has been novelized, musicalized, and retold many times. The King of Siam was known to be harsh. One of his children, though, left Siam and traveled for his studies, and when he returned to his homeland, he became one of the best rulers the kingdom ever had, known to be kind and progressive. Jesus came to die for our sins; that has been accomplished. Now it is our turn, as God’s children, to present to the world the fullness of God. The power that Jesus has – His incomparable power – has been given to us who believe, but we are not called to use it for ourselves. Let’s share this wonderful joy and hope we have with people around us, so that they may believe and know the love and peace of God for themselves.

Bible Reading

Ephesians 1:18-23 NIV
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
