Faith without works is dead. If there are no good deeds or works characterizing our walk with Christ, then we have joined the ranks of the walking dead, Cadaver Christians. Unconnected to the Tree of Life in an abiding, growing relationship, the branch and the fruit die. Faith without action or life change is dead faith. Connected to the love of Christ in daily Bible reading, prayer, and obedience, the vine grows strong. Love for others is cultivated and spills over with abundant fruit to our world. Good works blossom and flourish. In fact, good works will be impossible to avoid. Our living faith will roll up its sleeves to care for God’s people and relish the opportunity to get its hands dirty in loving acts. In connection to Christ, let your faith live. Bloom where He has planted you. Like one vibrant Christian of the past, keep watching what you do to see what you really believe.
