What can we help you find?

AppNotes

November 16, 2020

In this passage, by washing the disciples’ feet – one of the most demeaning chores in biblical times – Jesus encourages us to serve others as He did. We can follow His example to humble ourselves in service to others. We have a tremendous opportunity to share God with a community that needs to hear the truth. Northeast Pennsylvania has roughly 1.3 million people. Many of those 1.3 million have never heard the truth of God. They need to know the love of God; let them witness that love through our acts of kindness and sacrifice. Wherever you live in NEPA, some of those 1.3 million people live next door to you. They’re reaching for relationships the same way you are. Take the opportunities in your life – work, hobbies, or sports – to build relationships with the people around you. Whose feet will you wash this week?

Bible Reading

John 13:12-17 NIV
When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
