Have you ever watched an ant carry a breadcrumb half its size off your picnic table? God tells us to consider the ways of the ant. Yes, observing the nature of this creature helps us learn how to prosper. Here are just a few of those ways. Ants prepare for the future; they store up food for the winter when it’s otherwise too difficult to forage for food. Ants work hard; they scurry toward food and then bring it home. Did you ever see a lazy ant? Of course not! They focus on their task. Finally, these little creatures work together to get the job done. Each one has a specific task, and they work as a team. So here is the takeaway: prepare for the future, work hard, focus on how to get the job done, and work well with others. That’s how we learn to prosper.
Proverbs 6:6-8 NIV
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.
