What can we help you find?

April 26, 2021

Risk is a daily fact of life. This morning you took a risk and got out of bed. Perhaps you traveled to work on the interstate—an accident-laden location. Maybe you’re married and have children—high-risk choices. Your job requires a cross-country move or you have a new business venture—all risky business. God has designed life to be a series of precarious encounters, meant to be exercises in faith-building. Challenging situations become opportunities to lean into God for guidance and strength in our uncertainties. They can increase our faith if we turn to God for help and depend on His care. Take the risks of daily life to Jesus: ask for guidance on the job, safety on highways, a servant-spirit in your marriage, wisdom to raise the children. Walking a long road with God in the trust direction will affirm His faithfulness and bolster your courage. Risks are transformed into opportunities to honor God and increase faith.

Bible Reading

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

2 Chronicles 20:17 NIV
You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.’ ”
