Humility is: The owner of a company cleans his business’ restrooms. A star basketball player, who could score many baskets, instead passes to other teammates to give them the opportunity to score. A mom spends years making meals, doing laundry, and serving her family daily. A husband foregoes Saturday on the golf course to help his wife with chores. A busy twenty-something opts to spend time every week with her grandmother. Humility is forgetting yourself in order to serve someone else. It’s helping others get ahead, rather than trying to get the advantage over them. It’s putting yourself aside to consider another person first. Humility is Jesus—who did not consider His equality with God something to be used to His own advantage, but He took on the nature of a servant and became a sacrifice for us. Considering others before ourselves, serving—this is the mindset of Christ, the mindset He asks of us.
In cooperation with orders from the PA Department of Health, and out of a heart of concern and care for our community, masks are now required for everyone ages 2+ while inside Parker Hill Church buildings.
