It's hard to believe God is with us when we are at our most unlovable, but our sin doesn't shock him. It moves him to compassion. God is with us even when we fall short. When we are most aware of our sinfulness, we are most aware of his faithfulness.
Life will take all of us into seasons of suffering. Our gut reaction to suffering is to do anything to avoid it. We’ll try to find a way out. But the answer is to find a way through. When God is with us, we can make it through the valleys of suffering.
In a hyper-connected world, we have never felt more alone. But an amazing thing can happen when we understand that Jesus was forsaken so we never would be forsaken. In the silence, we can encounter God’s love and peace in a new and deep way.
Beat down. Overwhelmed. Lost. For too many of us, too much of the time, we feel like life is always holding us back. Two steps forward, three steps back. Before long, we lose our confidence that anything could get better. But there is hope. Into a world broken and marred by sin came the light of the world. He took our brokenness and gave us peace.
