Something about the brilliant colors of Christmas lights strewn over houses and trees makes me feel a child-like wonder. The sparkling and twinkling of the lights under freshly fallen snow is the promise of Christmas Day soon to come. I imagine a fireplace burning, cozy blankets and a cup of hot cocoa. A Christmas tree decorated, gifts wrapped and a father reading “‘Twas The Night Before Christmas”. With this, I am reminded of the light of Jesus, so powerful, warm and sweet. The light that a world of darkness so desperately needed. The light that reconnected us to Heaven. The light we still need. Jesus’s acts of kindness, His words spoken and the miracles He performed brilliantly color our world to this day. A sense of comfort and peace overwhelms me. I pray you have that comfort and peace in the middle of messy circumstances.
John 1:9-10 NIV
The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.
