Read John 9:14-16 (https://bit.ly/3bSgGUg)
Many times the self-righteous Pharisees criticized Jesus for healing people on the Sabbath. After all, they reasoned, God commanded His people to rest and Jesus was doing “work.” Do you ever get criticized for doing what’s right when it doesn’t fit into what’s culturally acceptable? Peer pressure can squeeze us to conform to what everyone else is doing. Work harder to get that new car. While growing up, our kids never had a car of their own because we couldn’t afford it, nor could they. My college-age daughter found this a hard pill to swallow when all her friends had one. We couldn’t afford more debt than we already had. The extra financial stress would not have been worth it. Sometimes creating margin means making tough choices that aren’t popular.
In cooperation with orders from the PA Department of Health, and out of a heart of concern and care for our community, masks are now required for everyone ages 2+ while inside Parker Hill Church buildings.
