The Bible talks a lot about the goodness of intimate relationships, and we can now realize and understand the beauty of our desires. Sex, however, does not define us. God didn’t necessarily mean that we all had to have it. Of course, if we are married, we are to become one and if we want to bear children, naturally that is what you need to do. But there were many in the Bible who did not. Jesus included. Celibacy, the act of sustaining from marriage and sex to focus on serving others and the Lord, is a gift from God as well. We are all blessed with various shapes and forms of gifts. So, cherish your gift whether it be your entire life or for a season. Enjoy and give great value to the beauty of yourself, as God’s image is reflected in you. In doing so, you glorify God.
1 Peter 4:10 NIV
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
