As a parent, I’ve seen my kiddos decide they don’t need my help far too many times. They’re confident they can do it on their own. We need to guide them and teach them right from wrong. However, if we shelter them too much, we may harm them even more. We have to let them experience physical and emotional pain. It can be heartbreaking to watch them feel that pain just as it is for God watching us, His children, hurt. He must allow us to experience certain things to fully understand and appreciate the good. We learn from our mistakes. God does not want us to suffer any more than parents wanting their children to suffer. Kids will go to their parents when they realize they cannot do it on their own. As children of God, we also need to realize that we cannot do it on our own. We need to seek our Father in Heaven for guidance. He will never lead us astray.
Luke 11:9-10 NIV
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
