I enjoy history. American history, especially the early years, is filled with stories of individuals and families who traveled west to make a new start. No matter where they started from or where they were headed, the stories all have something in common: everyone involved knew that without everyone working together, they weren’t likely to arrive at their destination. As people who believe in the saving work of Jesus Christ, our destination is secure. But the help and encouragement of others will make the journey more enjoyable and less grueling. Let’s consider the grace and gifts of one another; let’s consider what others are suffering. The end of such consideration should be to provoke brotherly love, and to stir it up to do good works. For God’s glory and for the good of the world. How can you serve? What’s your next step?
Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
