For two years General Eisenhower and his staff prepared for the invasion of Normandy during WW2. Over 150,000 assault forces were trained to physical fitness and honed to sharpness for the D-Day attack called Operation Fortitude. Plans for paratroopers, beach landings, and air power were considered and reworked. Although facing the fearsome and powerful war machine of the Nazi regime, the Allies had prepared well. Fortitude takes preparation. Confidence increases when we are prepared for those things that cause fear. How do we prepare for our D-Day when Death makes its final assault on our lives? Train your brain and your heart daily to face the Enemy’s attacks. Read and study the Scriptures. Spend time in the throne room with our King. Know He is in control of politics and pandemics. Increase daily your trust in God, our Protector, Defender, Savior. Your personal Operation Fortitude will yield confidence, not anxiety and fear.
Psalms 11:1-7 NIV
In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: “Flee like a bird to your mountain. For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart. When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?” The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them. The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion. On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot. For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face.
Matthew 24:36 NIV
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Matthew 24:42-44 NIV
“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
