We talk a lot about God’s best for us. What exactly does this mean? We know all too well about sin. Sexual immorality is not only a sin against God, but also against yourself. God created us with desires and the ability to enjoy certain desires, but they’re meant to be enjoyed within the sacred boundaries of marriage. Outside of that union, it’s not faithful to God, as it was not what He intended this intimate experience for. Marriage is that of two people’s hearts and souls intertwined, ultimately becoming one. Partners need to have a healthy sexual relationship so that one isn’t overcome by their sexual desires and led by Satan to another, who only will momentarily fulfill it. You are left feeling empty and only filled with regret and shame. God doesn’t want that for us. In order for Him to protect His precious children, He has set limits for us, and these are within the marriage covenant.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 NIV
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
