Read James 2:14-17 (https://bit.ly/2UuG3ob)
“What good is it?” James writes twice in today’s Scripture. “What good is your faith?” Is your neighborhood a better place because you believe in Jesus? Do other people benefit from your faith because you do good things for them? What good is your faith if it doesn’t do some good? James says real faith is meant to be expressed in care for Jesus’ people; it’s meant to do good. We are not saved by good works, but our faith should certainly demonstrate them. Do you attend church every week, but your neighbor doesn’t know Christ? Is the elderly woman up the street struggling to survive on her own, but you prefer not to get involved? Is the local homeless shelter in need of food, but you are sure someone else will take care of it? Real faith will be known by action. So … how’s your faith? What good is it to your world?
