These past 18 months have been filled with a whole lot of waiting. Waiting for quarantine to be lifted, waiting to return to work, waiting for businesses to open up, waiting to be together with loved ones. All that waiting has brought out the best – and the worst – in all of us. Today’s scripture tells us not only to wait but, do so quietly and with confidence. That is a tall order. “Quietly” suggests a wait without complaint and “confidence” is waiting while knowing that a resolution is coming. Waiting, and doing it God’s way, yields a far better outcome than what we considered possible. What are you waiting for? Can you do that waiting with confidence, knowing that God will move? With quietness, not yielding to disquiet? It’s challenging, but so worth it.
Lamentations 3:25-26 NIV
The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.
