Read 1 John 5:4 (https://bit.ly/3ipzcWE) and Proverbs 21:31 (https://bit.ly/3ilkJec)

The phrase “dark horse” originated in a 19th century novel. In a horse race scene, the dark horse “rushed past the grandstand in sweeping victory.” The Bible is full of stories about dark horses who seemed unlikely to triumph. Their “secret”? They trusted God in difficult circumstances to do extraordinary things. God still does miracles through contemporary dark horses. Consider Nicky Cruz, a gang member, high on drugs and violence, who gave his life to Christ at a Christian outreach. Today he shares Christ with at-risk youth of the drug culture. Or Bethany Hamilton, a surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack and prayed for God to use the accident for His glory. Two years later she won the NSSA National Championships, and today she takes God’s message of hope around the world. Like these contemporary dark horses, we, too, can trust God with our handicaps and sweep past life’s final grandstand in victory.
