Read Philippians 3:20-21 and Hebrews 12:1-2
How should we handle fear? The Bible says, clean our spiritual glasses and refocus. Often, our Heavenly sight is blocked and distorted by the pains and sins of life. We fail to see Jesus, the Lover of our Souls, preparing a place, an inheritance, and a reward for us in Heaven. Heaven is out of sight and out of mind most of the time. Instead, we should keep Heaven, our Home, in our constant view. When I spent a year in a foreign country, I thought of my home, family, and friends every day. Seeing them in my mind and knowing I’d get home, enabled me to soldier on and even thrive with confidence in that foreign place. Focus on Heaven. Study and read about it. Run it around in your head frequently. Nothing will chase your fear and transform your life as completely as what’s waiting for you when you get Home.
Philippians 3:20-21 NIV
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
