Read 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Broken hearts, broken homes, broken bones, broken dreams. Why to do we need to endure such trails? Wouldn’t a merciful God take away our suffering? Don’t be discouraged. God is exceedingly merciful; He delights in showing mercy to us. Sometimes He takes away the suffering, and sometimes He comforts us through the suffering. Whatever consolation the saints enjoy, we have it from God. But not for our comfort only. He comforts us so that we can comfort others. Do you know what it’s like to have your dreams stolen? There are others who will benefit from your story. Do you know physical pain? There are others who need the encouragement you can give. Have you struggled in your marriage? There are others who will learn from your lessons. Ask God how you can use your suffering to help others. You’ll be surprised at the doors He opens!
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
