“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us” (1 John 3:16). The Letters of 1, 2, & 3 John define love in the person of Jesus and call us to love like He loved. Join us as we study these three short letters this Winter using Kelly Minter’s study, What Love Is.
In an age when opinions fly at us unbridled, John gives us the gift of truth. When science and philosophy and your social circles often say you can’t really know God, John says, yes you can. And perhaps most importantly, at a time when the word love means just about anything under the sun, and therefore almost nothing, John tells us, “this is what love is…” And then he shows us Jesus.
John’s themes of fellowship, light, assurance, abiding, obedience and love are wonderfully grounding. John’s heart is pastoral, his voice pleading. He’s the coach who makes you stay after practice to run the bleachers, but only because he sees your potential. And his message couldn’t be timelier.
We will meet for 8 weeks – registration links are below for each campus. Study materials are $16; scholarships are available. Childcare is not provided.
